I’m Andrew Matheson-Venning, a furniture designer and maker based in Folkestone, Kent.
I design and build bespoke fitted furniture and cabinetry, creating simple, well-made pieces that are designed around the space and built to last.
Working in solid timber and high-quality sheet materials, I collaborate closely with clients from initial ideas through to installation.
Based in Folkestone, Kent, I currently accept a limited number of commissions across South East Kent, including Folkestone, Canterbury, Ashford, Dover and the surrounding areas.
Planning a project?
I design and make bespoke fitted furniture and cabinetry for homes, focusing on smaller-scale projects, repairs, and alterations that improve how a space works day to day. This includes both new fitted pieces and thoughtful adjustments to existing joinery, with an emphasis on good proportions, practical detailing, and long-lasting construction.
Examples of the type of work I currently take on include:
Fitted shelving
Small alcove units and storage
Home office and study furniture
Cupboards and boxing-in
Adjusting or repairing wooden doors and windows
Alterations to existing fitted furniture
Bespoke commissions
Projects usually begin with a brief call or email to talk through your ideas, space, and rough budget — with no cost or obligation.
From there, I can develop initial sketches and a rough quote before moving into detailed design, making, and installation if we decide to proceed.
Each project is approached carefully and collaboratively, with an emphasis on clear communication throughout.
